Why is it mankind has to have a Hero, Villian, and an outcome to every facet of their life? We have an incessable mindset to seek out these three ‘characters’ even in the smallest things. If you are a gardner, you know the heros that help in the insect world and the villians that destroy and then you apply the solution for a desirable outcome. If you are concerned about political/world affairs; you seek out the heros and villians predicated on your mindset or needs. Hollywood wreaks with the theme of the ‘three’…hero’s, villians, and the outcome. It just seems to be a fact of life among us to seek out and rationalize who is right, wrong, and what should be. It is our mentality ‘order’ to set things in perspective in order to proceed with our lives. We have to have hero’s to make us feel good and proud as well as we need villians to hate and try to correct with our solutions/outcome. It is just plain human nature.
What does the bible say about human nature? First we must find the design of man; which is, we were created in God’s own image. That is not speaking of a tangible image as much as it is of mindset/mental abilities. Then, he placed man in a garden with both, provisions and forbidden fruit.
What does mankind do? fall prey to the villian that seeks to destroy and thus, we live with the outcome daily. Mankind is still struggling with personal distruction of itself. As we took on the villians demise, we continue to seek solutions that inevitably destroy our very existence. We quickly leave the hero and chase after the villian until he finally destroys us in the process. To chase after the villian demands we struggle through a quagmire that is progressive in design and ultimately becomes impassable. Thus, no solution of any granduer is found as we are atimate in the chase and most always convinced we are going to succeed. If it continues this way; the villian wins. We loose. So, what is the answer?
Go back to the hero. Paul penned in Romans 8:1 “There is therefore now no comdemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.” Okay Paul, but you also said that you [and all humans] “…which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I.” “…and, you’re right, we do for ourselves and we always do it wrong. Why? We learned early on the hate the villian, and, in doing so, we fall victim to him. Hate destroys, villian wins. But, now you’re saying we need to look back to the hero and if we are ‘in’ Christ Jesus, then we don’t chase the flesh, but allow the Spirit to lead. I see where your co-heart, John says in his gospel in 1:12 “But as many as recieved him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.” Recieved is past tense..so when did they recieve this power? Luke gives this answer in Acts. 1:8 “But ye shall recieve power after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you…” oh, I see. This was when they tarried in the upper room and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost and as it entered them, it spake thru them in tongues the signs they had been given power to be the ’sons of God’. Is this what Paul meant when he said we are ‘in’ Christ Jesus? How necessary is this? Why can’t we still use ‘our’ mental ability and chase the villian? There’s only one victor over the villian, and we must allow him to do the chasing; that way, we stay out of the quagmire and continue with firm footing and complete the chase to victory.
The essentiality of being filled with the Holy Ghost is personified in Pauls statement in Romans 8:11 “But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.” Oh me, now thats essential..if it had to be for ‘Christ’, then so much the more for me, a sinner that chased the villian. I feel very sure I have found the true hero and also the solution to the villian.
